Regrettably, the Garden Park Paleontology Society has closed the
Dinosaur Depot Museum. Cañon City remains one of the best places in
the world to see fossils and the rocks where they are found.
The majority of the Museum's exhibits have been moved to the Royal Gorge Regional Museum and History Center. In "Dinosaur Migration" you will find our famous exhibits like the world most complete
Stegosaurus and Tony's Tree in the DeWeese Gallery. Dall DeWeese, a Victorian adventurer, bought back hundreds of specimens at a time when few people could travel themselves.
can visit the Garden Park Fossil Area where it and many other
dinosaurs have been excavated over the last 125 years.
You can find out more about
the Skyline Drive Trackway Site where dinosaurs walked along the
coast of the Western Interior Seaway.
The Garden Park Paleontology Society continues to search for a new location for its Museum. In the interim, exhibits from the Discovery Room are in storage. We have established a temporary laboratory to allow us to continue our science. We are looking forward to returning the laboratory to a location where it can be available to the public.
